अंतर्नाद

It’s been nearly two months that I am here, and so far all is good! Initially had troubles, but then eventually they all sorted. Some were major and some minor like crossing the road, which product to buy from the market and major like how to approach the professors, pay the online fees or the making the ID card, using the library or which courses to select! In-fact needed guidance in each and every little thing like provision for my bedding, sim card, using the laundry or post office or for that matter can I drink the hot water from the tap or locking and opening the doors too! Haha! When I look back it seems a little funny and weird and different! But then I had the help from my roommates, they really helped me a lot, made me meet friends. You really need an initial help and I deeply appreciate them for that! Now, I think the 'missing home' phase is over and I am actually ready to face the reality! Here, every other day is a learning process...

2010 सालच्या जून महिन्यात आम्ही मित्रांना ऐन पावसाळ्यात कोकणात जाण्याचा बेत आखला होता. जेवढी मजा तो प्लान करण्यात आली होती अगदी तेवढीच किंबहुना त्यापेक्षा जास्त मजा तिथे आली. सुंदर आठवणी मोहक अनुभव असलेली हया सहलीची  एखादी  आठवण  चेहऱ्यावर  एक हलकसं स्मित आणल्याशिवाय राहत नाही. हे आहेत या सहलीचे काही टिपलेले क्षण. जबरदस्त : आम्ही सगळे उत्साहात शेगावकडे निघालो. अंगात मस्तीचं भूत होतच. मग बसमधे गाणे लावून नाचणं काय, कविता आणि गाणी एकणं काय सगळी धम्माल सुरू होती. मग आम्ही दम श राज खेळायला लागलो. मला ‘जबरदस्त’ ची आक्टिंग करायची होती. तर मग मी आधी दस ची आक्टिंग केली, मग स ला अर्ध कापायला सांगितलं, मग त करता तलवार ची आक्टिंग  मग आता स्त सांगायला अर्धा स आणि त जोडायला सांगितला. आणि आता आली खरी मजा, माझी टाळी जरा जास्तच जोरात वाजली, पण काही हरकत नव्हतं, राधिकानी बरोबर ओळखल. तर तेव्हापासून ‘जबरदस्त’ आमच्या फिरा रे मधे अती फेमस झालं आणि बाकीच्या स्लोगन्स सोबत घेतला जाउ लागला आणि विथ माय आक्षन. आक्च्युयली...

प्रेम म्हणजे नक्की काय हो ? फक्तं मनाचे खेळ ? एकमेकांना बघून चाललेली मनातली चलबिचल की  शब्दांशिवाय चाललेली डोळ्यांची तगमग ? एकमेकांना दोन मिनिट बघण्याची गडबड की  सगळं काही सांगायला चाललेली एकमेकांमधली चढाओढ ? मेसेजचा रिप्लाय येई पर्यंत होणारी चिडचिड की  कसं सांगू या विचारांनी झालेली मनाची हुरहूर ? जुनं नातं खराब होईल म्हणून जाणून बुजून केलेली टाळाटाळ की  एकदा सांगून तं बघू हा विचार करून असलेला एकमेकांबद्दलचा विश्वास ? काही होवो प्रेम म्हणजे सोबत राहण्याचा एक अट्टाहास. तसेच शब्दांपली कडला एक सुखद आभास !

It’s been a decade since that dreadful tragedy. All eyes were glued to the landing of that ill fated (which saw many technical hiccups before too!) Columbia Space shuttle. Everyone was ready with wide arms, pride, euphoria, just ready to celebrate and congratulate and suddenly the moments were shattered. Just within few minutes all eyes were hoping that they will be safe, they will just smile, wave a hand and exclaim that they are alive but alas, it was destined to be an all together different story. The epic saga suddenly crashed few moments before reaching the final jubilation! They crashed to the same ground from where they rose, in where they dreamed. Among those seven astronauts was one little blue girl, a little dynamite, a power, the first woman in space of the most ambitious developing nation- India! Yes, Kalpana Chawla!
