Change!

"We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude."   - Charles R. Swindoll

Be it seasons, situations, thoughts, people, relations, places, almost every other thing changes, the only constant being you. So many times we fear the changes. But why? Change is inevitable and almost everything comes with an expiry date. We fear to accept this fact and forget to move on.

We cling on to the people. We cling on to the memories. Even if people have hurt us, even if the memories were not worth remembering, we hold them to our heart, silently praying that it was all false. In this process we get so dependent on the memories that we fear to be alone. We fear to be independent again. Unknowingly we fear the unknown. And within moments we get apprehensive and scared of the next phase.

Isn't it something we all should be curious about? Unveiling the unknown just by being there is indeed fun, right? Doesn't it seem like a precious treasure eagerly waiting to uncover itself? Yes, change is not that bad!

For example, when we start using a new mobile, software or any tool, we play with it and discover all its features on our own. We don't open a user manual and go on reading about it. We prefer doing it ourselves. And do you notice the joy we get when we discover some really good feature or application? The joy of using a new thing which was a welcome change from using an old mobile? In the same way, we have to just go out there and start acting, taking it step by step.

Still not satisfied? Remember the last time you changed your home arrangement? You felt like throwing a party, right? Why? Because it was good change. It gave you happiness. It gave you something to cherish. It gave you new memories.

If change can give you a real good reason to be happy about, why most of us run away from it? Does it mean that they no longer trust themselves? Have they lost faith in their beliefs or the saying 'Everything happens for a reason'? I seriously don't understand all the pessimism about it. It lets you grow more than you could imagine still why do we remain worried about it.
