The Story of a Certain Era!

Image
Two years ago I witnessed a beautiful story of an era with my family. That story made us weave our certain story, a story of a family, a story where the relationships were made and the bonds were strengthen. When we decide to go down that memory lane, mere mention of it is enough to put up a wide smile and  unknowingly we visit a place which is comfortable and pleasant enough to keep us going.   This is our sojourn through passe’ sand dunes and coastline, an assembled photo collection from my, cousins and uncles camera. I wish I had clear frames of images sans’ the tourists! The more I waited to have a clear picture, the more tourists used to pour in! Well the moment we hear the word, Rajasthan, the desert, sand dunes, puppets, their typical folk dances, palaces and forts cross our minds, and guess what, Rajasthan offers the same. A perfect place to be in perfect winters. A regular feature of the monuments - pigeons and camels. You simply can’t miss them. A place full

I remember reciting this prayer before my meals ever since I can understand. In simple terms it means, moderate intake of food, that is, neither too much nor too less, is healthy as it allows proper digestion.  I hate it when people leave food on their plates. A quick visit to any wedding/ function, you are amazed by the quantity of the left overs. I have never understood this concept. Technically, arranging the buffet means - eat what you like. If you are in a hurry, there is no need to wait for the Pangat where all traditional foodstuffs (read too many items) are served and you are supposed to finish the plate. I mean, you have arranged a buffet, when people are supposed to eat what they like, but then, the "Let's try this, looks yum!" "Oh no! It doesn't seem like it. Throw!" thinking spoils its sol

Game On!

Sports! A big turn on! How, from when, no clue, but yeah, they are always there to boost up my energy levels. To some extent I can say that, I like games. Not love, but actually like. There is a subtle difference between these two words, isn't it? Well, a cricket match has always intrigued me. I still believe that it is just a ball game where actually only few players play while others just stand around. For the records, I love it when India wins any cup or beats Pakistan, I guess, its just the patriotic in me bounces now and then. Nevertheless, I adore some of the cricketers, obviously not only for their play but also for their demeanor. But the game itself need some more chances to convince me, and with the addition of the IPL, it has a very long way to go! I was introduced to badminton at a fairly young age but I still dread that I gave it up for studies! I should have continued it. Playing badminton is anytime the best stress buster for me,  in-spite  of knowi

A Cuppa Coffee!

Image
Sitting alone, sipping a cuppa coffee, reading, writing, doing work, whatever, bliss. Period. Coffee has always been the trigger, it's so easy to get high on a single cup of coffee! The hot brewing cup or just an ice chilled one is enough to do the wonders! For so many days, I had waited to come up with a good write up, but somehow the words always failed me, not today! A lone campus lounge near the dining area, my cafe  choc  chip frappe, the peaceful ambiance, the perfect chair overlooking the green campus through the huge glass wall beside and behind me, a perfect sunny and cloudy climate, a little rush of the staff or the students at the back or the front in the hallway, a distant television in the dining area showing a football match when I entered and now some movie, nearly empty surrounding with a silent cool air, few guys practicing their hip-hop moves and the dim lights adding a little song of their own, a perfect combination and no wonder I am onto my thir

New Summer !

Image
It’s been quite a while that I have been writing. Maybe it is the summer effect. No classes, assignments or the near end deadlines to  fulfill  might be the cause to bring all the daily activities to a standstill. The rush phase has been always the best. I like that pace, anxiety, concerns. It keeps me on my toes; the mind is occupied and yes, brings out some of the best outcomes. Having said that, the recreation times are always the best too! After a hectic day, the ‘aaj kuch toofani karte hai’ moto keeps on popping and it will be a no surprise that I will end up with a long walk (with camera) :) or just hit the gym, try to read a novel in a single day or complete one season or just talk/chat (a lot) ultimately extending to an all - nighter :). Sadly, once the race finishes, all the motivation is lost. This might be because of the uncertainties and the unplanned days. This is so unlike! Till now, all summers were properly planned rather belonged to cousins or friend
