Her Reverie!

(Read Part 1 here!) -II- So, what's your story? Unexpected. Never before she was asked such a question.  Did she have her story? Were her uncanny aspirations, her humble or the bashful self, all that defined her? Well, she was pretentious or sometimes atrocious too. Did it mean she was not typical? And at some point of time, she was unbelievably vulnerable. Girl, you are more strong than you think, Jane said. Slightly amused, Maya just smiled. Jane's such random comments, always caught her off guard, nevertheless made her comfortable. It was always a mystery how they could read each other's mind. Totally excited and at-home she felt with these words. Just the idea that someone does wants to know about her was enough to make her elated! Completely overwhelmed, she stood there tongue tied, much to the surprise of Jane. After a while Maya talked! There were always those questions of how, why, when and she was so used to dodge them all. Then ther...

Old Thoughts, New Paths!

Howdy! So, it's been quite a while that I am in Texas, looking back, it has turned out quite well. Till now, it has been an adventure ride. I have met so many new people, new acquaintances and new ideas. Made some good friends, more like a family; yes, I am happy. A nostalgic post - No! Missing home - No, umm, yes, a little, happens! An inspiring one - Not sure! An impromptu write up - Not really, it's one of the assignments! This post is for the blog of one of my friend's interesting start-up Mentor Buddy 's blog , which uses a communication platform for aspiring students to interact with the existing students or alumni of the universities they want to go. No, I am not going to talk anything even remotely related to the exam preparation, university short listing or the application process; nor about immigration, airport pick ups or adjusting in the new surroundings. Ok, even I agree, it's enough of a prelude. At times, ma...

Flight !

On the mountain peak I stand, And gaze at the beauty nature has to sketch. I feel like a bird, free and unworried. Satisfied with the flights taken, Anxiously await the countless paths to tour. Sometimes lost a feather or two, ... missed towns a couple or few. Sometimes the winds were harsh, ... or the climate too wet. But the pleasant sun always made me push ahead. You ask, if ever I got lost, Would you believe if I said, "Of course, quite a lot!" No regrets, as I  know the journey further awaits, I haven't yet seen my flight's strength. I am a bird, all I know is to fly, Come what may, I won't cry!

Just Enough Inspiration!

Just when I found myself caught in the numerous opened tabs on my laptop, waiting for the coffee to kick in, I stumbled upon these lines in an article: Part one: Neglect everything else. Part two: Get disciplined. Learn to rush to your laptop and open it up. Open the file without asking yourself if you’re in the mood, without thinking about anything else. Just open the file: and then you’re safe. Once the words are on the screen, that becomes your distraction. Of course, it’s not distraction—it’s work, and it’s wonderful when it goes well. I’m sure other, more disciplined people can do it without needing to rush, but I have to. The moment you think okay, it’s work time, and face down the words, you rush past all the other things asking for your attention. Part three: Keep the Apple homepage, because it’s rather boring. If your homepage is the website of your favorite newspaper, you’ve had it. [Read it here:  http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/ar...

Lies !

Eyes- they say - never lie, But whenever her's met his, She always wondered why! She felt the chill, when he looked through, Little she knew, it was never true. Less they talked, more they fought, Never in between was any thought. Cherished were the moments when they met, Although few, were enough to make them meet again.

It's not every other day when I am more proud than happy; one of it is today no doubt! Today we have published my Grandmother's poems! "Aaji" as we fondly call her, really defines a lady. Be it the worldliness, generosity, patience, strength, finesse or humbleness, she has it all. At adversity or at any achievement she has held her head on her shoulders and is one of those reliable people to whom we can always turn to. We have seen her journey through her numerous endless stories. Yes, we have seen her broad shoulders turning into tiny skeleton, the strong skin hold to the wrinkles; she is the truest example of aging with grace. When she is not working in the garden or cooking or taking care of the household chores, she spends her time with us - her grandchildren. Little we know or cared that she has her own life. We have never seen her sitting idle, usually engrossed in the daily routine, yet, she always knows everything. Be it the current events, sports, m...
